How to eliminate as well as mitigate the moiré effect to shoot perfect LED electronic display images
Strange streaks and irregular ripples appear when images are captured on a working LED electronic display. These ripples are called Moore's stripes or Moore's effect. The Moore effect is a visual perception that occurs when one set of lines or dots are seen superimposed on another set of lines or dots that differ in relative size, angle, or spacing.

The main effect of the Moore effect is on TVs, video cameras. If there is an imbalance in illumination between the pixels of an LED electronic display, it can affect the quality of the image on the LED electronic display and cause glare when the display is viewed at close range. This poses a significant challenge for TV studio productions and live productions on other video equipment.

Eliminating moiré can be presented in your images in a variety of ways. It is usually not needed at all but it can be addressed in both image capture and image display.

I. Camera Pixel Shift Technique

Moiré is a phenomenon caused by the details of an image being smaller than the image sensor's
The spatial offset imaging caused by the spacing Although the horizontal resolution of the CCD camera is improved as much as possible, but still can not completely eliminate Moore's stripes, because the image sensor still has a certain spatial frequency, can not be formed continuously on a surface.

1 Adjust the camera to change the shooting angle when shooting

The angle between the camera and the LED electronic display will cause moiré, slightly change the angle of the camera (by rotating the camera) can reduce or eliminate moiré.

2Changing the position

The angle between the camera and the LED display can be changed by moving the camera left and right or up and down to reduce moiré streaks.

3Changing the focus

An overly sharp focus on image details can cause moiré. However, slight adjustments in focus can change the sharpness and thus help eliminate moiré.

4Changing the focal length of the lens

Use different lens or focal length settings to improve and eliminate moiré. Process with software. to eliminate moiré streaks that appear on the final image.

The above methods can be applied in some specific places, but there are practical operational problems for TV cameras, especially for live TV programs.

Second, the elimination of moiré streaks optical disposal screen

When shooting the optically disposed LED electronic display screen, the camera can shoot images without Moore's stripes at almost any angle, any position and any focal length. At present, some domestic and foreign manufacturers have mastered the relevant technology.

The optically disposed screen will be tightly fixed on the exterior of the LED electronic display. The special screen contains a certain proportion of light-absorbing materials and pearlescent lens coating, transmittance and hue to meet the requirements of TV shooting, will not affect the brightness, gray scale and color temperature of the LED electronic display.
