Does 0.8mm or 0.9mm LED display available?

By now, we all know there are no technical difficulties for manufacturing P1.2 or above. P0.8 and P0.9 ONLY could be made by a minority of factories. But it doesn’t mean the same technology was adopted by these factories. Below are some of the techniques used for narrow pixel pitch led display screens.
1) 4-in-1 Packaging LEDs by Nationstar
2) COB 3-IN-1 LEDs by KN Light or other packaging factories
3) SMD0808 3-in-1 LEDs by Nationstar or other manufacture SMD-&-COB-led-chip-dispensing
So what is 4-IN-1 packaging LEDs? What are COB LEDs?
4-IN-1 packaging LEDs is the upgraded variant of SMD LEDs with the same technology, just like 4 pcs of SMD0808 combined as one big SMD LEDs. You can check the size of SMD0808 and 4-in-1 packing LEDs as below:

The meaning of COB is “Chip on board”. COB LEDs are integrated on the same PCB board by wire bond and covered with the silicone resin on the surface. It doesn’t require for SMT processing through soldering machine (fewer processes during production). You might not see separate COB LEDs like SMD LEDs, because it is usually visible from COB modules. You can have a look at LED cabinet with COB modules as follows:
Which type of LEDs is more expensive?
– COB LEDs is more expensive since it is still under development if go with 0.8mm. The cost is still high since the market demand is small and the LED packaging factory hasn’t reached its maximum capacity yet, only sampling and testing stage. Hopefully, COB LEDs maybe could apply for P0.9 in the 1st half of next year.
– SMD0808 LEDs is less expensive than COB LEDs because of its technology already very mature and the quality already proved by the market.
– 4-IN-1 Mini LEDs is less expensive than 4 pcs of SMD0808 LEDs. Now it is available for 0.9mm and the model for 0.8mm is on the roadmap. Also can use SMD0808 for P0.9 and SMD0606 for P0.8 instead of 4-in-1 packaging LEDs.
Why COB LEDs?
– COB is better at standing collisions and good protection of Oil, Damp, Water, Dust, Oxidisation and dust.
– COB technology makes the ultra high definition LED screen models between 0.5mm and 1.0mm available
Why use 4-IN-1 LEDs, while not SMD0808?
– 4-IN-1 packaging LEDs is much easier for maintenance than SMD0808 due to its larger size. The smaller the size, the harder for repairing. Currently, only an authorized technician from HDR LED screen manufacture could repair small size SMD0606 and SMD0808 LEDs. Most of the technicians who work for customers’ company can’t repair it very well. 4-IN-1 packaging LEDs helps to reduce repair work. Meanwhile, it has better standing collisions.
