Unpacking LED Display Terminology
I. What is surface-mount module? What are the advantages and disadvantages?
Table sticker is also called SMT, the SMT package of the lamp by welding on the surface of the PCB board, the lamp feet do not need to go through the PCB board, the module composed of this process is called table sticker module.
Advantages: good display effect, high pixel density, suitable for indoor viewing.
Disadvantages: brightness is not high enough, the lamp itself is not good enough to dissipate heat.
II. What is sub-surface mount module, what are the advantages and disadvantages?
Sub-surface mount is a kind of product between DIP and SMT, its LED package surface is the same as SMT, but its positive and negative pins are the same as those of DIP, and it is also welded through PCB during production. Advantages are high brightness and good display effect. Disadvantages: complex process, maintenance difficulties.
Three. What is three in one, what are the advantages and disadvantages?
It refers to the RGB three different colors of the LED chip package SMT lights in accordance with a certain spacing vertically side by side. Advantages: good results. Disadvantages: complex process, maintenance difficulties, high cost.
IV. What is the difference between indoor module full-color screen and SMD full-color screen?
(1). Light-emitting parts: module full-color screen display module is generally yellow-green, pure green module is generally more expensive, patch full-color screen generally use pure green tube core.
(2). Display effect: module full-color screen pixel point visual feel thicker, lower brightness, easy to have mosaic phenomenon, SMD full-color screen consistent line better, higher brightness.
(3). Maintenance: module full-color is not easy to maintain, the whole module replacement cost is higher, SMD full-color easy to maintain, can be single-lamp maintenance.
V. Why is the production cycle of outdoor screen longer?
(1). Raw material procurement: LED tube procurement cycle is relatively long, especially the imported tube core, ordering cycle takes 4-6 weeks.
(2). Complex production process: PCB design, cover shell production, glue filling, white balance of the lamp.
(3). Structural requirements of the joint: generally for the box design, need to consider wind, rain, lightning protection lamp.
VI. What is a synchronous system, what is an asynchronous system?
Synchronous and asynchronous is relative to the computer said, the so-called synchronous system refers to the content displayed on the display and the computer monitor synchronous display LED display control system. Asynchronous system refers to the computer to edit the display data stored in advance in the display control system, the computer shutdown will not affect the LED display policy display.
VII. What is a real pixel?
It refers to the physical pixel points on the display and the actual display pixel points are 1:1 relationship, the display actually has how many points, can only display how many points of image information.
VIII. What is virtual pixel?
A virtual pixel is a 1:N (N=2,4) relationship between the number of physical pixel points on the display, which can display 2 or 4 times more image pixels than the actual pixels on the display.
IX. What is Viewing Angle? What is a viewable angle? What is the optimum viewing angle?
Angle of view is the observation direction of the brightness down to the LED display normal brightness of 1/2, the same plane of the two observation direction and the normal direction of the angle formed, divided into horizontal and vertical angle, can be seen on the display is just the direction of the image content, and the display of the angle made by the normal, the best angle of view is just to see the content of the display and not bias, the image content of the clearest direction and the normal. The optimal viewing angle is the angle between the direction in which you can see the contents of the display and the normal line.
X. How to choose the right display?
(1). The need for display content
(2). Requirements of the screen resolution
(3). Cost control
(4). Visible distance, confirmation of viewing angle
(5). Requirements of installation environment
XI. There are three factors when designing the screen:
(1). The need for display content
(2). Space conditions of the site
(3) The size of the display unit template (indoor screen) or large pixels (outdoor screen)
